2008 -------
I checked with "Ooo 3.0.0 RC3 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [OOO300m8
(Build9357)]" and can confirm the reported effect with "FilterWithRowAbove.ods".
I found similar behaviour with an own new document.
Steps to reproduce:
1. open new dochment.
2. Inserte column "A" following instructions "Case 1" in report, starting in
Cell A2
3. Inserte column "B" following instructions "Case 1" in report, starting in
Cell B2
4. Clik on A2: drag mouse pointer to B5 (to highlight "A2:B5"
5. Menu 'Data -> Filter -> Autofilter'
Autofilter appears as expected
6. Click into 'A1'
7. Click filter button in B2
8. Standard filter, 'Value "- empty -" <ok>
al works as expected
9. Menu 'Data -> Filter -> Remove filter'
All lines will eb shown as expected, data area will be highlighted.
10. Redo from 6 several times, you will get always the same result
Now stop in Step 8
11. Menu "Data -> Filter -> Auto filter
Autofilter will be removed as expected
12. Type word "text" into 'A1' , <enter> and click into A1
13. Redo from step 4!
As soon as you click "Standard Filter" in step 8, the auto filter buttons
will disappear, and the highlighted area will be 'A1:B5'
Not a big problem because you can solve it by defining a data area A2:B5
(containing column headings), but that problem does not appear with 2.4.1, and
unexpected, because filter works fine with empty row 1
