2008 -------
Running from a SUSE 11.0 environment, I tried the installation procedure for OO
3.0.0 at:
http://nl.openoffice.org/inst-instructies-3.html#linux.
After point 6 it says:
"Bij de installatie van 3.0 wordt, als er een 2.x versie is geïnstalleerd,
gevraagd of de vorige versie moet worden verwijderd. ......"
After the instruction "rpm -Uvih *rpm" (point 6),
the previous version is not deinstalled first.
I get an error message about a conflicting file:
"file /usr/bin/soffice from install of openoffice.org3.0-suse-menus-3.0-9354
conflicts with file from package OpenOffice_org-2.4.0.14-1.1"
and the installation stops.
Since I'm not an expert I really need a simple update pocedure.
best regards
