@es: Concerning this issue, you're right, but I propose to keep this discussion
in this place because it is a bit later for that. If we finally identify one or
two items, new issues should be created and I will close this one. Okay?

@hfinger: Please consider that we worked for 1,5 years on that and we decided
many things this way, that it will work for a wide variety of users and use
cases. Therefore in some cases, small workarounds will be required for some of
your cases.

>>> What about a single-cell table or similar. This is a real pest when you
want to add underlining, bold, code font = Courier.
Beiing our beloved developers, mod and mba decided it this way considering
technical and functional constraints. Anyway, this discussion is not finished
yet in the i-Team.

>>> What about putting date and name in a single line, instead of one above the
other?
Okay, then we do not have enough place, use initials instead of the full
author's name or we would remove the drop-down button which eases the access for
Mac users (no right mouse button) and beginners (not knowing about a context
menu). This reasons are stated in the requirements.

>>> In this current job, I find that the same Note is required in many places in
the document. It is easier to select and copy the first Note, rather than type
it all out again.
Usually, Copy and Paste should work even for the content. Ctrl+Alt+N for a new
note, Ctrl+V for the content.

>>> Or just clicking on the triangle to select the Note.
>>> Not very important if you can click on the anchor.
For accessibility reaons there should be always an alternative for e.g. keyboard
users. So thinking about functionality requires this to be considered.

>>> I was thinking mainly of shrinking them to perhaps show a line. The reader
could (a) scroll the Note [okay for a few lines] or (b) grab a handle and resize
it to see all the content, perhaps temporarily obscuring neighbouring Notes.
Again, it has been decided to minimize manual interaction. I don't want this to
be changed in the near future, although we have enough substantial user
feedback.

>>> What about RH, LY, or both RH and LH? If Notes alternated in both margins,
and were smaller, you could fit in lots, with less overlap of leader lines.
[...]
This would change the order of the Notes between the text/anchors and the side
pane. And, this kind of visual design has already been implemented for book
layout (two sides paper "touch" each other and only the outter margins can be
used).

>>> Perhaps keep the background colour to indicate the reviewer, but change
border and anchor colour when leader lines clash? Red border relates to red
anchor? [...]
This assumes that you already selected the note (or mouse-over-ed it). We
already provide the "focus feeback" via shadow which will be further improved as
Writer gets better graphic capabilities outside the paper area.

At the moment I would propose that you re-open a new issue for the first item
(selectable text format) to not get lost. All other items have been decided in
the team or need further feedback from our complete user base. Maybe the usage
feedback extension will help here. Okay?

Bye, Christoph
