I checked with "Ooo 3.0.0 RC3 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [OOO300m8
(Build9357)]" and can not confirm the reported problem. So I close this as WFM!

I doubt that you tested all OS!
You did not find 'Tools -> Options -> Writer -> Mail merge E-Mail' (item 11 if
you search for "mail merge e-mail", so I assume that you are not a "geek"? I
suggest that you discuss your problem in a public users mailing list
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) or on the forum at
<http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/>.
Please feel free to reopen this issue if the result of the discussion is that
there really exists a bug in OOo. But then we need much more (=all!) details
concerning the settings you use and a detailed step by step instruction.
