I checked with "Ooo 3.0.0 RC3 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [OOO300m8
(Build9357)]" and can NOT confirm the reported effect.
2.4.0 is outdated, so I close this issue.

Pls. feel free to reopen this issue if you find out that the problem is still
existing with a current stable OOo version; you should attach a sample document
and contribute information concerning your OS!
