I can't confirm. I've installed OOo 2.4.1. The registry key is written as you
have described. Then I've installed OOo 3.0 and let OOo3 uninstall 2.4.1. This
technically the same as you've done. After OOo3 installation this key points to
OOo 3. it still works for me.
