I checked with "Ooo 3.0.0 RC3 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [OOO300m8
(Build9357)]", "PDF import extension 0.3.2 (Beta)" and can NOT confirm the
reported effect as a general problem.
Inverted color seems to be a DUP of Issue 90617, rotation currently not known

Please check your OOo version and contribute a sample PDF document with
information concerning used scanner. May be you should test PDF import extension
0.3.2!
