If running the office as root a userlayer is created to store the user
configuration. Unfortunately we cannot live without (yet). This is a known
issue.
However, the extensions work as designed. If you install as root, you maintain
the extensions as root. On Windows you might be local admin, which allows you to
change settings for all users.
