I tried it; changed to 'I,II,' or 'A,AA,'. No effect! 0 remained.
I forgot to mention, that after switching to a different format like "1, 2,
3..." you must manually correct to start value "1" in the dialog, then switch
back to "a, b, c...".
Alternative: In the styles.xml you have to lookup for something like
"style:num-format="A" text:start-value="0"". There it can be changed to "1".

MRU->OD: I now got the way how to get to the forbidden "0" start value for
alpha-numeric numbering format. In the Format.Numbering dialog set "1,2,3..."
with start value 0. Then go to tab page "Numbering type" and select an
alpha-numeric format. That's it... Please have a look whether this is something
for you or for OS.
