There is no possibility of OpenOffice 2.3.1 correctly opening an XML version of
an Excel file because 2.3.1 was created before the Microsoft XML format was
released.
Please install 3.0, which does support opening XML files, and try again. There
is no need to change the extension.
Have set to P3 and invalid. If the problem persists with 3.0, please revert.
