the hight of the text box is set to automatically align with content. So it is
expected that you cannot freely control the hight of the text box.
I cannot see any problems with the presentation using OOo 3.0.0.

please re-test with a more recent version of OOo and provide an exact
description (as already suggested screenshots would help)
