For instance say you have 4 cells merged (A1, B1, C1, & D1) and you need to add a new column between columns B & C you cannot unless you unmerge the cells mentioned. This is a definite limitation and needs addressed. Excel has let you inert columns between merged cells as far back as at least 97.
