A connection between the page counting and the printer setting is not a solution
at all. Printer settings should not influence the document content. I'm sure a
typical user of this type of page counting would not want it that way.
A solution can only be a parameter for the page counting that defines whether
empty pages (all empty pages, not only invisible pages?) are counted or not.
