Replication instructions: - Boot machine with OpenOffice.org 3.0 Quickstarter in the taskbar. - Right mouse on Quickstarter icon. - Select "Text Document". - When Writer is opened with an empty text document, close the document but leave Writer running. Expected result: Writer runs consuming minimal system resources. Actual result: Writer continues running, but soffice.bin is shown to consume almost 100% of a core's time. On single-core machines, this is a crippling defect.
