I am unable to mantain an html document which contains relative links. I can
save the document with relative links intact, BUT, when I reload the document
all relative links are translated to absolute links based on the local file
system.

It is important to understand that the problem occurs when the document is
loaded. The relative links are transposed to absolute file system links.

I have seen responses in other reports such as this...
 "Just have a look at tools/options/load save/general , there you`ll find a
check box for storing URL´s relative or not."

...but this does not work.

The settings under...
Tools - Options – Load/Save – General – Save URLs Relative To
...In this options area OO provide two checkbox choices: “file system” and
“web”. These settings have no effect on correcting the problem above. It seems
that there should be another option called “relative”. ---Or perhaps having them
both unchecked I would expect that the link specifics would be maintained
exactly as entered. So if they were unchecked I should be able to maintain a
relative link such as “index.html” or “./index.html” or “./mydir/index.html”.

I would have attached a simple html test file, but there was nothing on this
form to include a file. The problem is very easy to create as described above.

To summarize: You can save an html file with a relative link, but when you open
the document again with OO it will convert the link automatically to absolute
file based on local file system. Adjusting Options General Load/Save will not
correct this problem.
