I think there is no real solution for this problem:
- If the image has to stay exactly where ir is, the footnotes will grow under it
because they need more place.
- If you can accept to see the image move with the text, anchor it as character,
thus, when the footnote need more place, the image will jump to the next column.
- I think, the best way to work is to write all your text including footnotes,
place the image somewhere, and in the end, place the image where it suites the
best.
