Wow. Interesting issue - played a bit with it, these are the preconditions:
* local display. works for remote X11
* vclcanvas. works for cairocanvas
* text rendered to a tightly sized sprite - if you "send to back" the
rotated text, such that it's the very first shape of the page, then it
will show up correctly during presentation - but now, the *other*, animated
text will have the lower part cut off.
@hdu: any ideas? looks like text metric/rendering are off for the local display
case (stuff gets rendered into a VDev) - some uninitialized var? at least I
don't recall any changes to my code there since 2.4.1. ...
