------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 30 22:46:27 +0000 2008 ------- OpenOffice lets me open multiple views on the same text file (Window > New Window). Both windows allow editing. Sometimes, editing in one windows shows up in the other one. However, when editing a large file in both windows, I ended up having the windows be treated as two separate editing sessions. The net result is that after I closed both windows, I ended up losing the edits I made in one of the two windows. This is extremely serious, since it caused several hours of data loss, and even regular saving or backups don't help (since one version always overwrites the other). This sort of thing really shouldn't happen in any "3.0" level office suite. Instead of relying on some logic during file opening/closing, perhaps OpenOffice should check regularly whether the collection of windows and views it has open is actually logically consistent and correctly linked. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
