Using the build from [CWS:frmdlg] with SRB

Open the report in the attached bug doc.
Select any text box, in the property editor open the Formula Autopilot dialog
Click on the word DATE in the Formula display, or double click the function DAY.

The text displayed at the top of dialog is:
Returns the number of days since 01.01.1900

Could say:
Returns the date's serial number given Year, Month, and Day.
