Thanks for the detailed explanation.
Still, I cannot reproduce the problem with the official builds for
OpenOffice.org 3.0. Since you're using a build of a different vendor
(PortableApps), please contact this vendor for a resolution of your problem.
For the moment, I have to claim that this is a vendor-specific issue, not
present in the official build from http://download.openoffice.org.
