I had to edit your code a bit to let it run - and then I could not reproduce the behavior. But then nothing really exciting was done: an empty writer document was stored using the MS Word 97 filter. Could you please create an attachment with a complete compilable source file that shows the bug? Or, even better, just tell me which sample is it?
