(Reproducing the results here are probably dependent on your locale.)
1) Open a new document.
2) Create a table (say 2x2) - I used the toolbar icon.
(Note the cells have a default number format of type "Text".)
3) Type a date into one of the cells: 3 Dec. 08
4) I press down arrow on the keyboard to move the cursor to the next cell down.
5) Number recognition is on, and so OOo3 auto-formats the date to: 03/12/08
(The cell number format is now auto-changed to "date")

OK, I can live with the auto-format and I'm happy with number recognition "on"
'cos I'm going to need it in other cells, BUT, I want my date to be 3 Dec. 08.

6) If I look in the undo list, the last operation is "format cell". So, good, I
press the undo button on the toolbar, and sure enough my date changes back to
what I typed - great. So far so good.

7) But here's the problem. The undo ALSO moved my cursor back to the cell. I
didn't want that - I want the cursor where I left it. So I down arrow again
again to get back to where I was.

And the whole thing repeats from step 5 - an infinite loop.

The issue: Undoing "format cell" should leave the cursor where I left it. Yes,
undo the auto formatting, but no, don't move the cursor. The two things should
not be bound together.

David
