I can confirm the bug for OOo3.0 on WinXP.
If the word, which is to be changed with the correct one, has no own style
settings, then the new word takes the settings from the space before the old
word. You can see it too, if you format the space with a font color.
I think that this is a bug. The new word should use only the style settings from
the old word.
