Reproducible with DEV300m37 on Windows and Fedora.
If open a new Impress document, hit 'New' button on the Standard Toolbar, this
button works well.
But if do like doze_worm described, this button doesn't work.
Follow the steps, can reproduce it with OOo2.4.1, change the version to 2.4.1
