I found a bug in OpenOffice 3.0.0 (provided by Novell) running on Linux
(OpenSuSE 11.1). On Windows other users reported that this problem does *not*
exist there.

The problem is labeling the X axes in a simple diagram for a table with date
columns like this:

01.01.09 10
02.01.09 20
03.01.09 30

When the date column should be printed on the X axes and the numbers 10,20,30
should printed on the Y axes in a simple bar diagram and printing labels for
both axes is activated in the diagram, then
there are no date labels (like 01.01.09) printed on the X-axes. However by
simply replacing date values in the table (eg replace "02.01.09" by a text
string say "b") the corresponding label below the X axes (here: "b") suddenly
appears without changing any diagram setting.
Ill try to add a demo document to this bug report that shows this strange
behaviour.

If I save this spreadsheet to a file and then open it with Staroffice 8, then
select the diagram and next open the context menu by klicking the right mouse
button and select "edit" in this menu then the date labels appear, without any
further action. Creating a diagram like depicted above in staroffice 8 right
from the start everything is ok. The three date labels appear below the X axes
right below the three bars for the corresponding Y value.

Thanks
Rainer
