The workaround for the crashes inside Quartz is good enough for now.
Retargeting it for now, since the workaround works fine, is needed too rarely,
the performance impact is not too bad
and the exact circumstances of the related Quartz bug (e.g. when it will be/was
fixed) are not known in all required
detail.
