ok, what's meant is tail -n +2:

r...@mini:~/OpenOffice.org/OOO300_m9/odk$ grep -r "tail +2" *
setsdkenv_unix:OOVERSION=`cat $OO_SDK_HOME/settings/dk.mk | tail +2 | head -1 |
cut -d"=" -f2 | cut -d"." -f1,2`

$ cat pack/copying/dk.mk | tail +2 | head -1 | cut -d"=" -f2 | cut -d"." -f1,2
tail: cannot open `+2' for reading: No such file or directory

$ cat pack/copying/dk.mk | tail -n +2 | head -1 | cut -d"=" -f2 | cut -d"."
-f1,2
3.1

so it's undeed due to the new coretuils, which got more strict in its options
(head -1 also is deprecated, should be -n 1 correctly)
