Whenever cells are highlighted and you try to highlight others beyond the edge.
If you go to the left there isn’t much problem since you are usually near the
front of the spreadsheet anyway. When you pull back from going left the
spreadsheet highlighting-scrolling effect reverses direction, but goes too fast
to stop it in time, so you have to try to reverse direction again. The problem
is that when it is going right and has picked up enough speed it won’t stop. The
program then hangs until it does, which usually happens at AutoRecovery. Since
AutoRecovery takes precedence over anything else, this breaks the runaway
scrolling. I realize some people like the scrolling to go fast, but it would be
nice if you could stop it by hitting the Escape key.
