Thanks! I wasn't aware that freetype changes a zero advance to non-zero when
emboldening. Applied the
patch in CWS vcl98. Also changed it to preserve zero-ness for vertical layout.
Speaking of diacritics I'd like to mention the planned CWS kashidas02, which
will fix some other major
issues in the related CTL-layouting. I'll open it as soon as an MWS which
contains CWS kashidafix is
available.
