Let me cite from a recent conversation with an IBM engineer:

In fact, the fixed unijdbc.jar solved the problem. So, it's confirmed by now
that this is a bug in IBM's JDBC driver.
I resolve this as INVALID then, since it's not an OpenOffice.org issue. Please
contact IBM for a new version of the JDBC driver.
