Dear Sir or Madam:
FYI, today I downloaded OO 3.0.1.
(LinuxIntel_install_en-US.tar.gz). I converted all the rpm
files to tgz via rpm2tgz. I removed OO 2.4.2 via pkgtool and then
installed 3.0.1 via pkgtool. I went into 3.0.1, loaded a writer
document (odt file extension), and the first thing I tried was the
down arrow key: it did not work. This problem is not actually
resolved.
Since my original report, I have reloaded (not update) this
machine with Slackware 12.2; it is very up-to-date with Slackware's
current distribution. This is an i686 machine with an AMD Duron
processor and 512 Mb of RAM; though about five years old, this machine
runs OO 2.4.2 quite nicely and the arrow keys work on that.
I realize you don't have the resources to devote to this
matter, but I thought someone there should at least realize there is a
problem somewhere. Thanks for listening.
