2005 -------
rpms cannot be patched but need to be replaced/updated. To allow for a small
patch set we want to install newer revisions of the libraries that can ship in
an additional rpm that contains only files that need patching. The size of the
file depends only on the files we need to patch, not on the size of the rpms we
initially ship.

To access the right library at runtime we need to create files that contain an
additional revision as a file extension. A softlink that points to the file with
the correct revision stands in for the file itself. Therefor no changes in the
code are required. As a patch we ship an additional file with a new revision and
update the link.
