After some searching and lots of dead ends I found the place where to download
Open Office 3. But
when I went to the address:
http://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/3.0.0rc4/
I got one of those directory lists which I usually see when I come across an
ftp server, or a server
which allows a browser to see its contents. So, I see a list of files to
download, and I have to guess
which one to download. I can see the difference between the Intel and PowerPC
versions in the file
names. I can further see by the language codes what languages each file is in.
But, I still have a
choice of two files to download. Which one is correct for my platform: Mas OS
10.4.11 on a PowerPC?
The two files are: OOo_3.0.0rc4_MacOSXPowerPC_install.dmg 03-Oct-2008
12:01 170M
or BrOo_3.0.0rc4_MacOSXPowerPC_install_pt-BR.dmg
03-Oct-2008 11:59 163M
I feel either the site should direct the user to the right download, or someone
needs to explain the
system a little more, rather than have the user guess which download is correct
off the list.

Thank you,

John D. Moore
