The menu items itself are definitely available but without any label. As you describe that only Impress is involved I would suspect that the file: /opt/openoffice.org3/basis-link/share/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/UI/DrawImpressCommands.xcu is corrupted or missing. You also describe that Impress icon on the StartCenter screen is disabled. Therefore I also suspect that the file: /opt/openoffice.org3/basis-link/share/registry/modules/org/openoffice/Setup/Setup-impress.xcu is corrupt or missing, too. So it looks like your installation is broken. I doubt that the update of Java JDK could corrupt data files. As you can start other modules and see the menu labels the libraries itself look to be OK. So to help us you can add both configuration files to this issue.
