I can see the extra spacing on the screenshot - in the end of the line of
"latest"bookmark. So why did you initially write "before the line"...?
This problem is really Vista specific.

MRU->OD: open the attached document, navigate to the bookmark "latest". Now add
or delete a character, CTRL-S for saving -> see now the cursor blink left of the
end of line. When you enter a character now, position will be corrected, but you
see a spacing at all other paragraph end marks in the text.
Either it is not possible anymore to click into the last line of a multi-line
paragraph.
