The update doesn't run 'seemingly'. It runs without any further dialogs. This is
a 'minor upgrade' which shouldn't have any dialogs. No installation/update
shows you what will happen next and what dialogs will be displayed while
installing (see e.g Acrobat Reader or Firefox). Works as designed.
The files which are downloaded on the desktop o where ever you have placed them
have never been removed and it's intended not to remove them.
