------- Additional comments from [email protected] Thu Feb 12 22:11:44 +0000 2009 ------- To remove a password protection from a document help advises to use "save as" and uncheck "Save with password". Unfortunately this does not work in 3.0 and 3.0.1 any more when saving into the same file name. The only way to unprotect a document is to save it under a different file name. To reproduce the problem: - Open a new writer (or calc) document - type in some character or something else - choose "File - Save as" - check "Save with password" - give a password and file name, ok. - close the document and open it again - you are prompted to type in the given password. ok - make some changes in the document - choose "File - Save as" - uncheck "Save with password" to unprotect the document as help says - save the document with the same file name as you opened it - no error message or something else appears, so everything seems ok. - close the document and reopen it again - you are still prompted to type in a password!!! I tried it on windows and linux with the same results. Probably a problem with the new locking mechanism?
