However: A look in the Online Help tells...
...that Hardware acceleration and Antialiasing are not supported on all
platforms. On Win XP, I habe them both enabled, on Linux (OpenSuse 11) I have
"Antialiasing" enabled, but no "Hardware acceleration", on Fedora Core 4 both
are disabled.
=> All works fine.
Back to the subject: The dialog entry "Icons in Menüs anzeigen": This entry is
unchanged at leaset since OOo 3.0.
Quoting Online Help (DE)

Neben den Befehlen in den Menüs werden die entsprechenden Symbole angezeigt.

...so even here is a mix of "Icons" and Symbole". -> Needs clarification to get
consistant translation.
In the same dialog, the Entry "Antialiasing benutzen" may as well be discussed.
In the Online help, "Antialiasing" is translated to "Kantenglättung" but not
mentioned itself. Note: "Kantenglättung" is not exact (Antialiasing can do
"more") but the normal user can understand the "main effect".
