So did you install unoconv? If so, might be that this is still registered
somehow and causes problems with 2.4.
Please remove/backup your user-installation folder ~/.openoffice.org2/ and try
again. In case you're asked whether to import settings from a previous version,
answer "no" and try again.
You might also try with a newer version (OOo 3.0.1 is available since quite some
time) and/or with the KDE-plugin disabled (SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen (or gtk) /
OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=none (or gnome))
