I have confirmed this bug occurs on open office 2.4.1 under Windows 7 Beta. The
file the original poster attached confirms this. I also made a few other tests
to make sure it persists in other situations. The first file has a list similar
to the original file. I made another one, only difference is bullet two has more
than one entry, yet the bug still persists when you paste the contents of list 1
in there, and an unwanted bullet for 3 appears in a similar spot. This unwanted
bullet appears no matter where you paste the list to

These tests so far have only covered copying lists from bullet 1 to other
bullets, which always seems to cause a problem. When trying to make a list from
bullet 2 and onward, it appears that depending on how you format the list
determines if the bug appears, and if it does, it’s not nearly as severe.

For lists copied from bullets other than 1, it seems to have a slightly
different effect, which makes this bug a little unpredictable I find. Depending
how you create the bullets seems to have an effect if there is a misplaced or
unwanted numbered bullet in the resulting list. It seems if you use manual line
breaks (shift+enter), then there is no error when copying and pasting one of the
lists. However, if you let open office format the bullets for you (pressing
enter and then backspace to remove the new bullet), then this is where it seems
the problem arises. When making a list with this method, the unwanted bullet
only appears on the last entry of the copied list. The number of entries in the
list does not seem to affect whether this bug occurs or not. However, based on
my tests, a work around to this would seem to be using manual line breaks to
create the entries in the list to avoid this problem if your list is being
copied from anything below bullet 1.
