------- Additional comments from [email protected] Tue Mar 31 11:10:45 +0000 2009 ------- Issues may arise when converting textual elements to HTML: different sizes on different browsers, different default fonts... An alternative, although uncommon solution may be to export Impress objects as individual images, and that way keep the slide structure in the exported HTML. Objects with text may be converted to images with ALT and/or LONGDESC attributes containing the text, so the exported HTML becomes both accessible and search engine friendly. Basic interaction can be also exported this way, by generating anchors around image objects. Absolute positioning seems reasonable. To minimize load times for slides with many objects, those that have neither text nor interaction assigned to it can be grouped and exported as one image. An advanced usage of this approach can be the usage of currently available JavaScript libraries to export object animation. For example, JQuery already implements most of Impress's animation features, and is designed in a way that suggests usability in our scenario. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
