IMHO a strange rationale. You don't write USD if you mean $, or, back in
old days, DEM if you were talking of DM, or do you?

I still doubt that in print media and daily life on the street or in
grocery shops the prices are noted in CHF and not Fr. Can you provide us
with some reference, online or a book, where we can gain some insight?
If SFr./Fr. is not used, could you please file a bug against the CLDR
for the de_LI locale, and provide that reference there? See

Maybe the computer "SFr." thingy is just legacy, and because MS was
using it, everybody else does ...

Steine,

Would you please understand that OOo offers two currency strings, of
which one is the ISO-4217 CHF currency abbreviation that is not going to
be changed. The other one is the currency symbol, currently "SFr.", used
in print media and daily life and stamped on coins, which is questioned
here. Changing also that one to CHF is most certainly wrong.

Did you even read the "MÃnzverordnung"? It also talks about "Fr.".

And how do shops price their goods for the customer?

Thanks
Eike
