Then it is possible to select handout printing and the number of slides per page. Nevertheless, even with adjusting the page format (e.g. A4 paper and margins of 1cm) the printed area uses only a fraction of the paper (effective margin about 4cm). Adjusting the handout's layout (View->Handout Page-> Tasks->Layouts) has no obvious effect on size and position of printed slides on page. Also, the OOo printing dialog shows the slides in horizontal order which is at least confusing (when selecting 2 per page).
