I believe we should have heard concerning a general Solaris installation
problem.

Note: OpenOffice.org does not supply CD ROMs directly. From where did you get
the CD?
Are you absolutely sure that it can't be some user caused installation problem
or something similar?
Can you pls. try a downloaded installation file?
