Max,
I can retest using IceWM and XFCE4, but it will still be a Slackware-based system. But I don't have any computers with other distros lying around.
Thus far, I've been frustrated every time I've tried to use OOo 2.0 Beta for equation editing (and I do lots since I teach physics). I have been going back to OOo 1.1.3 with KDE integration to get my work done.
I'll check the window manager thing, and get back to you.
