I am using OOo 3.01 000300m15 Build:9379 on Windows XP Pro SP2. I checked for
available updates and searched the bug list first.

I write many documents with Japanese characters. These documents mix Japanese
and English, though I don't know if that matters. After saving the documents in
native format (e.g. .odt for Writer), when I re-open them, some or all Japanese
characters are replaced with 0s (zeros).

This problem is frequent, but unpredictable -- sometimes it happens, sometimes
it doesn't. Even stranger, it usually happens to only *some* characters!

I think it only happens in tables, but I cannot be sure, as much of my writing
involves tables. I have some documents without tables, but since the problem is
unpredictable to begin with, ability to create (a) document(s) without a table
and have it save properly doesn't prove the problem is tables.

Sometimes when I fix the document and save it again, it saves properly. But it
is a huge problem, since it takes me hours to create these documents. (I am
learning Japanese and creating documents for other people.) I *do* save *often*,
but the problem appears only after I close and re-open the document, *I think*.
Again, the problem is unpredictable to begin with.

Attached is a file where this problem happened...I hope. I don't see how to
attach it! I *hope* I will see this option after I click "Submit issue"!
