MRU->PL: the described effect can be seen in different places in OOo on ubuntu.
The drawing toolbar is one good sample. When having selected a drawing object
and the mouse points on a control in the drawing formatting toolbar, the content
of the control will be invisible.
Can also be seen in the Options dialog in section "General" or "View" e.g.
