To illustrate what I mean I created a video that you can download here: http://www.informatik.uni-freiburg.de/~schmidma/openoffice-bug.avi The issue is (and this happens both on Ubuntu 8.10 and Windows Vista, Openoffice 3.1) the following: When I had my focus on a frame, then want to move to a different part of the document using mouse wheel, the view jumps back to the frame after one page scrolling. Then its fine and I can navigate however I want. If I wait for a second, it does not jump back. I noticed that the tool boxes have to change (from frame editing to normal editing) and this seems to create the delay. And when the toolbox change finished it just grabs control and goes back. I want to add here that there are variations of this, leading to confusion and feeling that openoffice is very sloppy.
