Check the "edit document properties when saving" in the "open/save" option
dialog.
Open any document marked as readonly by the file system, or in the "open"
dialog.
Save it under a new name / in a different format.
Try to edit the properties - you can't!
I'd expect that the document is no longer readonly at that point of processing,
so I could fill in some properties.

(I typically receive Excel files, have to make some changes, and save them as
ODS files. Since I don't want to tamper with the original files, I make them
readonly. Then I have to save them under a new name to make them editable.
However, the problem seems to be not limited to converted spreadsheets.)
