I downloaded OO vsn 3.xx from your website.  This was done into my 
user/documents directory.  I then installed using the default install wizard.  
I got a message window stating that the download was successful.  I checked the 
ProgramFiles directory, and the .exe files and readmes, etc. were there.  The 
OO icons can be found in the Start menu in the usual places.  I copied and then 
pasted shortcuts to my desktop.  Double clicking on the Writer, CaLc, & Impress 
icons caused hard drive activity for ~30 sec, but nothing happens after that, 
no messages, nothing.  I read the readme.html document re. administrative 
setup, and I didn't knowingly do this, and don't have the msvc90 dll.  I have 
no idea what the message about the startup string means & I don't see what my 
problem has to do with the 'default' office application anyway.  As for the 
video driver, yes I do have an NVIDIA card installed in my laptop to run a 
proprietary application which REQUIRES OpenGL compatibility.  Furthermore, the 
card was included with the computer, so I expect that the driver is the proper 
one for Vista and my machine; besides, I have no other graphics issues with 
this machine.  I have spent all afternoon downloading OO, so I would appreciate 
a prompt and comprehendible reply.  Thank you very much for your attention.
